The next Wednesday’s Lecture of the A. G. Leventis Gallery will take place on the 13th of April at 19:30. The speaker will be Mrs Sabine Cazenave, Director of the Museum of Amiens.

Cazenave has been Director since 2007 and in charge of the new regeneration and development projects of the Museum of Fine Arts of Amiens.

The building, that now houses the museum, was built between 1850 to 1890 and was regarded as a model museum both architecturally and in relation to the presentation of its collections. The museum has a remarkable archaeological collection (it is considered to be the richest collection after the Louvre in France) as well as objects and sculptures of medieval period and an important collection of works of art dating from the 16^th to 20^th century.

The museum will now open its doors with a friendlier approach towards visitors, after a series of museological studies have been implemented and the museum itself has been renovated. Mrs Cazenave will discuss these changes, focusing on the aims and policies of this new approach, as well as elaborate on the museum and its collections.

The lecture will be given in French, with simultaneous translation into Greek.
