The A. G. Leventis Gallery is collaborating once again with the Teloglion Foundation of Art to present to a Cypriot audience, the collectors Aliki and Nestor Teloglou. Between September and April 2016, the A. G. Leventis Gallery will host an exhibition dedicated to the Teloglou collectors, who at a similar period to Anastasio G. Leventis, created their own art collections which they donated to their hometown, Thessaloniki with the foundation of the Teloglio Foundation.

The exhibition aims to present, through a different perspective, the Teloglou couple and their collection. Aliki Telloglou was born and raised in Thessaloniki, the oldest child of Naoum and Loukia Orologa, refugees from Constantinople and Monastiri. As a child she loved reading and art, and her dream was to study interior design, but in the end she signed up to medical school. Nestor Teloglou was born in Smyrni, to a family of bankers and traders. Due to the Asia Minor destruction, his family moved to Thessaloniki. After his studies in Switzerland he returned to Thessaloniki where he met Aliki, began working in business, and together they started their collection.

The exhibition includes mostly Greek artworks purchased by the collectors, as well as their personal belongings and furniture, to give an image to the visitors of the role of the collector to society, culture and education.

A number of events will take place in paralel to the exhbition such as educational programmes, tours and lectures.
