Experiential Workshop No. 2 – ‘The crippled stork’

Humans, money and greed: The value of sharing and giving – based on Nikolaos Kounelakis’s painting Portrait of a Young Woman.

The suggested workshops combine the principles of Philosophy for Children (P4C), storytelling, drama techniques, music, and visual arts. More specifically, through role-play children explore philosophical concepts in a creative and interactive way, that promotes the unfolding of feelings and emotional concerns. During this process, children have the opportunity to talk freely about their dreams and beliefs, and express themselves through self-awareness games, artistic creation, theatrical manners of expression, music and movement exercises. All voices are heard and valued, and children get to understand the importance of justifying their personal positions/opinions and how to listen and disagree respectfully. This approach increases their tolerance of diversity of opinion and resilience and enhances critical thinking and self-reflection.
