An educational and research programme of creative movement and play by the University of Nicosia (Department of Music and Dance, Department of Pedagogical Studies and Department of Architecture, University of Nicosia).

This pioneering program was inspired by the painting ‘The Bird of Mesarka’ by Christoforos Savva, part of the A. G. Leventis Gallery Collection. For the first time, workshops will be created on this programme, for different age groups.

In this workshop the participants will have the opportunity to explore the context and meaning of the painting through movement, the use of objects as well as the 3d, and floor/vertical perspectives.

Teachers will be given the opportunity to participate in a training workshop, where they will receive educational material for them to use in the future. Data will also be collected for the purpose of writing an academic text.

Presentation of Workshop Results


The workshop and activities are accessible to people with disabilities and is designed on an inclusive basis. Participants should have a pair of socks with them and wear comfortable clothes that will allow them to move easily.
