In the context of the monthly Wednesday Lectures and on the occasion of the launch of the new permanent exhibition 'The Gold Collection', the A. G. Leventis Gallery presents the lecture on 'The commemorative coins and medals of the Gold Collection'. The curators of the collection, Lefki Michaelidou and Eleni Zapiti, will present the history of rare commemorative coins that are considered landmarks in the history of world coinage.

The new permanent Collection includes 605 gold coins and commemorative gold medals from ancient times 362 BC to the mid-20th century. The Collection was developed by Anastasios G. Leventis from the early 1960s to 1976 while he was living in Paris, and is presented to the public in its entirety for the first time.
