The first ‘Wednesday’s Lecture’ – a series of lectures on the history of art, will take place on Wednesday May 7, at 19:30. 
The first lecture has as its subject the renowned Cretan artist Domenicos Theotokopoulos, better known as El Greco. The year 2014 has been declared the year of El Greco in Spain and Greece, marking the 400-year anniversary of his death. 
The A. G. Leventis Gallery’s Paris Collection includes an artwork by El Greco, ‘St. Francis in Ecstasy’.

The lecture ‘The Many Faces of El Greco’ will be given in English by Robin Cormack, Professor Emeritus of the History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University College London at the ‘Constantine Leventis’ Auditorium at the A. G. Leventis Gallery.

The lecture is taking place under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Cyprus, on the occasion of the Greek Presidency of the European Union.
