'Coexisting within Nicosia'
Discovering the Multicultural Roots and Voices of the City
With the People of Cyprus.

Inside Nicosia’s walls, every stone has a story—of people who lived, created, and shared the city for generations. Different languages echo through the streets, familiar smells fill the courtyards, and faces—old and new—show how much the city has grown and changed.

With the photo walk "Coexisting within Nicosia", part of the People of Cyprus project in collaboration with the A. G. Leventis Gallery, we’ll explore the city through its many communities: Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Maronites, Latins, Armenians, migrants, and refugees—each one part of its story.

We’ll walk through cafés, churches, mosques, and schools—places where people come together and everyday life keeps moving forward.

Because Nicosia isn’t just a place—it’s made of people, memories, and everything in between.

The event begins with a guided tour of the temporary exhibition “Look at Me!” Portraits in Greece by Robert A. McCabe. Then, we’ll head into the old city for a photo walk, where participants will be encouraged to observe, listen, and capture the many faces of Nicosia.

Everyone taking part is eligible to enter the Gallery’s Photography Competition.

· A hat is recommended
· Bring a camera or smartphone for taking photos
