"The Magic of the Darkroom:
Experiments with Photograms"

How can photography exist without a camera? How does light interact with objects to create images?

In this creative workshop at the A.G. Leventis Gallery, we will explore the art of the photogram, one of the oldest photographic techniques that does not require a camera or digital tools. Using photosensitive paper, natural and artificial objects, and the power of light, participants will create unique black-and-white works, investigating the relationship between shadow, transparency, and form.

During the workshop, we will:
· Learn about the history and aesthetics of photograms, with references to artists such as Man Ray, László Moholy-Nagy, and Christian Schad.
· Experiment with different materials and image composition.
· Explore how light and its absence can tell a story.

No prior photography experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
