"The River’s Payback"

Once upon a time, in the lands where the Squamish people lived, when summer was coming to an end, the river would bring salmon to the tribe, feeding its people. It was, they say, a great law and tradition for the Squamish tribe to cast their nets only once, so that everyone would have fish to eat, and the salmon could multiply and return the following year. However, one year, a young fisherman, seeing the salmon swimming wildly in the crystal-clear waters of the river, was blinded by greed. He did something no one had expected.

Join us for another transformative workshop with Marina and Rebecca Katsaris, which focuses on the responsibility humans have towards the planet that hosts them, based on the painting by Victor Ioannides (1903-1984) 'Boats in the Old Port of Limassol' , which forms part of the Cyprus Collection of the A. G. Leventis Gallery.
