The paintings, drawings, installations, video and photographs in this exhibition were chosen in terms of their capacity to provide a new view or interpretation of the imposing mountain range or, as the French thinker might have said, to cast new light upon it. The works were chosen for their ability to place creator and viewer alike in a state of vigilance inextricably linked with forgetting, a prerequisite for asking the question, why, when we speak of the Pentadaktylos, is there so much theorising about a truth that has been repudiated and not of a mountain range that calls out for interpretation?
