'Telemachos Kanthos and the Women’s Bazaar’

On the occasion of the A. G. Leventis Gallery’s temporary exhibition 'Kanthos: The Sharp Edges of History', we invite our young friends to spend a Sunday full of imagination and creativity at the Gallery.

Together we will explore the unique world of the Cypriot painter Telemachos Kanthos and learn about the series of sketches and works he created over the years inspired by the Women’s Bazaar, which offered him a wealth of material. The Women’s Bazaar was a traditional open-air market held in Nicosia every Friday until 1958.

Later, in Renoir’s Workshop our young friends will print their unique silkscreens with some of the designs created by the painter. Then, they will work on these designs using their imagination to make their own paintings!
