He grew up in Patras and studied at the School of Arts in Athens (1886-1893). During the 1912-1913 Balkan Wars, he travelled on board Greeknavy ships on government orders to capture the events in the Greek fleet operations. Shortly before his death, a solo exhibition was held atthe Zappeion Hall in Athens, featuring upwards of 260 works. Coming from a family involved in shipping, and being a student of Konstantinos Volanakis, he also became known as a seascapist andlandscapist. Plein air and conventional expressions coexist in his work.
