A student of Nikolaos Kantounis on Zakynthos, he studied at the Academy of St Luke and the Royal Academy in Florence, where he livedfor 12 years. He participated in the Paris Exposition Universelle (1867). An exponent of painting in the Ionian Islands, he mostly painted portraits and religious scenes, while also making copies after works of the Renaissance and the Baroque.
