From 1900 he attended lectures at the School of Arts in Athens; he graduated in 1911, earning the Rallis Competition award. In the aftermathof World War I, he went on to study on scholarship from the Averoff Bequest at the Académie Julian in Paris. In 1928 he was appointedto the Athens School of Fine Arts, of which he became the deputy director towards the end of his life. His painting style belongs to the Symbolist movement. He also became involved with graphic arts and religious painting.
