He graduated from the School of Arts in Athens in 1878 and from the following year, with the financial support of businessman Aristides Papoudof, went on to study at the Munich Academy. In Munich he exhibited genre works at the Art Society (1882, 1883) and in 1891 held a solo exhibition in his studio in Athens. He distinguished himself as a portraitist. In his brief life he managed to demonstrate his extraordinary abilities as an artist, which rank himas one of the most gifted painters of the so-called School of Munich in Modern Greek art.
